When  a power  broker  narrowly avoids  a  horrible  end  and  then
finds  that none  of his  coworkers remember  him, he is drawn into
a  torrid  world of mystery, secrecy and death. He knows nothing of
those  who are after him,  but he  is determined to find out - though
he  won't  like  the  answers  he  finds.

Others  will  join  him,  escapees  from  frightful   experiments  and
waking  nightmares.  From   the  seedy   side  of   Las Vegas to the
ancients  mountains  of  Vermont,  those  who  survive  will  begin
their  battle  against  a foe  more  powerful  than  they  can  imagine.
Ryan  is  a  typical  Vermont  teen.  His  life is  average,
even  uneventful.  But  all   that   is  over   when  Ryan  
discovers  the dead  body  of  a  hunter.

An  encounter   with  a   mysterious   Guardian  forces
Ryan  to  rethink reality. He finds  himself  on  an adventure  that crosses
the  boundaries   of  what   is  real,   and  what   is  fantasy  and   science  
fiction.

As  one  of  a  chosen  group,  Ryan   literally  finds  himself with the  fate
of  the  universe   resting  in   his  and  his  companions'  hands.  Is  it  all
real?  Of  course  it  is.  As  real  as   life  and  death.
